I'll check the prices for chipping and let u know..

jhford, If u have a fedex, dhl or any accout I can send it with your accout no...

if not, I need you to send me the cost of shipping via Paypal.

Normal mail should not cost much but it will take few days to arrive..

I will need about $20 for the antenna, but as you are first evdo tester i can send it to u with shipping cost only... if you provide us pictures and some test info..

    ok?

btw. please understand that i'm not doing this for money, but to help others.... so i cant service all now. let's test it first and see how i can help others too..

Sure. Probably best to use Paypal. You can email me the cost and your Paypal info to jhford@gmail.com. I'll do the best I can re pics and testing and post the results. Let me know if you need anything else. Email is always fine.
    Thanks again.

    JKK,

I'm in for $20 plus shipping to Chicago for an antenna that works with the Verizon EVDO pci mini express card.

I would also be interested in an antenna.  I live in CT/USA. I would like to install an evdo card in an everun.

mobilx.hu will sell just the Everun cellular antenna if you need one (if JKK's version doesn't work or isn't available).  They offerred it at 40 EUR + shipping.

Re: Where to source a PCI Express Mini WWAM cellular modem card from?

When I bought my HSDPA card from mobilx.hu the other day they suggested that I got an antenna from ebay (link below) instead because they said it was smaller than the everun antenna and would fit in my Q1U better..... and it was a fifth of the price...woo!!

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220155136833

and to anybody thinking of buying from mobilx.hu....I would highly reccomend them, they're very friendly, were prompt at answering my questions and it only took 15 hours from placing my order to the DHL man turning up on my door with my modem card!!

Im just waiting for the aerial to arrive now as the stupid post people are on strike here in the UK and we're getting no post until the end of the week Angry [:@]

I'll post back when it arrives and I've done some testing Wink [;)]

Re: Where to source a PCI Express Mini WWAM cellular modem card from?

Ive had some success too, bluesign2k make sure
1, Install the 2.02.18 software first
2, If your sim isnt recognised, completely shut down the q1u and start again
3, Set up a profile with Apn for whichever phone co you use
4, Lock the utms only into the novatel software and your away.
As per my previous posts I could only pick up gprs.  Im using a pretty crappy antenna atm, waiting Jkks  one "in the mail"  but had 2.1mbps last night. And yes Mobilx are just fantastic, heres the modem options if anyones wanting to know, I have the Everun also and using that modem in the the Q1u so may have to buy another now.

That would be great if it works, please report your findings.  My understanding is that a wifi/BT antenna does not work so well on a HSDPA/EVDO card because it is not tuned right for cellular frequencies, so you don't get a strong signal (which can be bad, since internal cell antennas tend to be weaker to start with).

Re: Where to source a PCI Express Mini WWAM cellular modem card from?

    @mikey

I've installed the card and the software already and it all seems to work ok, as you would expect though it just sits there searching. I've been playing around with it tonight a bit and at one point it didn't recognise the sim, like you said. Because I'm an impatient kinda guy and I couldn't be bothered with the whole reset, I just went into device manager and disabled the card then re-enabled it... that did the trickWink [;)]

    @tmarks11

as the guy at mobilx explained to me, HSDPA works at 2100MHz and BT/Wi-Fi work at 2400MHz so the frequencies are not that far out. This is proved by the fact that mikey said could get any GPRS signal. Presuming the bands are similar (if not the same) as those used here in the UK, to get any signal other that UMTS/HSDPA he must have been connected to one of the other bands. Here I think they range from 850MHz to 1900MHz (dont quote me on that) either way it's lower that the 2100MHz that we're looking for, so if GPRS works then there's no reason why HSDPA shouldn't.... or have I forgotten something obvious (please feel free to correct me if I have).

Either way, I will report my findings as soon as royal mail pull their finger out their buttAngry [:@]

Re: Where to source a PCI Express Mini WWAM cellular modem card from?

hmm, well I may be SWOL here, since even the HSDPA antenna might not work well.  I intended to use it for Verizon EVDO/1RTT, which apparently is at 850 and 1900 MHz, meaning that I need a dual band antenna (and an antenna tuned for 2400 MHz will probably limp along poorly).

jhford will test my antenna on EVDO in few days so then we know how it goes.

I use it myself for gsm/gprs/edge/3g at 900/1800/2100

I'll do my best to get these to anyone needing it, but we want to test first....

Re: Where to source a PCI Express Mini WWAM cellular modem card from?

I thought I'd drop back in to report that the Dell Verizon EVDO card didn't work out.  The Q1 ultra saw the card but couldn't load the drivers, and the dell software won't load on a computer that is not a Dell, so I've returned the card.

Since then I've picked up the Verizon USB720, and my plan is to use it as a USB card (works really well.) unitl we hear back from jhford as to whether JKK's antennae work with EVDO.

If they do, I'll send my $20 (plus shipping) to JKK, take the pci mini express card out of the USB dongle and mount it inside the Q1U with the JKK antenna attached.

Re: Where to source a PCI Express Mini WWAM cellular modem card from?

    That's unfortunate.
I just bought a Novatel U727 (Sprint) and a EVDO router.  Should come Thursday.
I'm pretty excited.  Although it's not an internal solution, it gives me a lot of options.
