    ASUS R2H Partial striptease

I decided to have a look how easy it would be to replace the harddisk for when I want to test Vista on it, and so...

I already replaced the second standard 256MB SODIMM with a 512MB.

The harddisk is connected via a flatcable that runs from the side under the disk to the motherboard connector above it.
The GPS unit is connected to the top right with a flatcable (disconnected here) and a earthing cable to one of the screws holding the harddisk.

What surprises me most, is that the CPU is not directly cooled by the fan, but with the amount of 'vertical' space available this is probably the best way to do it.

Sorry no more disasambling done (hence the 'partial' :) )

Now on the hunt for 1.8" disk..

    Striptastic!

Biggest 1.8" drive seems to be the 80GB Toshiba MK8007GAH. Expensive at the moment tho. 177 Euros here.

I did a strip-down of the i7210 today. It must be a Sunday thing!

    Steve.
