    The New Origami Team Introduction

The new Origami Team as posted a Quick Introduction! I have to say that's nice to see that Microsoft is not abandoning completely the UMPC boat! Oscar, one of the members of this new team is asking the community for what we want to see next. I don't know you guys, but what I really want to see is more tutorials about how to get the most we can from our UMPC running Vista, more efficient drivers, Windows Movie Maker running in Vista (it was running in XP so I don't see why it can't run now in Vista), etc.

Oh and I forgot to mention more efficient drivers for our UMPC including HID Drivers. I know that that's OEM responsibility but I have seen many 3rd parties drivers in my life and if somebody can make them that's Microsoft.

    What's the question again?

I suspect Frank forgot that "polls/surveys" is now at the top of the page... :)

Good question CTitanic, we are working with our partners to document the Vista installation process. Keep an eye on this site but also check the sites from the various vendors.

And what about drivers?  What about Origami Team helping vendors with better drivers? what about Microsoft HID drivers?  That would be a lot better for the whole community than having you guys working  in the OE.

    CTitanic,

The Origami team does a lot of work behind the Origami Experience UI scenes to support our partners with software such as the HID driver. Because of the possible dependancies on other drivers, we release this software to our partners, who will decide if, how and when to integrate this into their software images or provide this on their support websites.

I trust we will see updates made available to take advantage of the touch, ink and handwriting recognition support in Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate.

That´s good know Oscar! But.... at this moment we need a little more than Trust. Many of us already bought Vista and we want to see our investment being used. ;)

My point is that I have seen in all Windows Installations many Microsoft Generic Drivers and it's the users choice to install the OEM driver or leave the device with Microsoft Drivers. If you want an example BT Drivers ;) so... My question is why MS does not release such generic HID Drivers? ;)
