Is the Streets & Maps on UMPC a customized one ?

If that was the standrad version, then it might be too cluttered for a 7" screen and has there been any customization done or is it just making those controls bigger ? Does any one know ?

I'm not sure but, I don't think that Streets and Tips will be customized. Too much expenses and everything to start that project again. And it might not be that cluttered-who knows: you have to install it and then try it.

Most of the UI is customizable, so you should be able resize panes and turn unnecessary toolbars off. Jeremy has spent a bunch of time using Streets and Trips, so I'll see if he can jump in this thread and add some of his thoughts.

    Hi all,

Streets & Trips starts by default with all its toolbars turned on which does take up quite a bit of space on a UMPC display. As Sears says, I have spent quite a bit of time using this application on these devices and I use it with the toolbars turned off most of the time - especially the Drawing and Location and Scale toolbars. The two screenshots show you 'all-on' and 'all-off' on an origami, you can choose anything in between to suit your needs.

You can also hide the windows task bar which makes the screen even less cuttered

Here is where rotating the screen would be cool for strip maps to be viewed while driving. I see elsewhwhewe this option might be an OEM choice to implement or not. Be neat if Streets & Trips made it a display option rather than just a print option.
