OK, in the old Q1, the on/off switch has 3 positions. the switch stays always in the middle. if you push it to the right it opens Vista or XP. If you push it to your left it opens the AVSNow partition. the log on time into that partition is around 20 seconds.
To log on into AVSNow you have to from Windows Vista or XP, turn off your UMPC and then using the on/off switch you push it to your left and log into AVSNow. If you go to hibernation and you try to turn on your Q1 in AVS Now what happens is that your device will boot into Windows and after 2 minutes logging it will open the AVS Software suite.
So, translating the differences in hardware architecture between the Q1 and Q1u, the AVSnow partition should boot when the AVS button is pushed. I can unequivocably state that my Q1u WAS shut down (and yes, I do know the difference between hibernate and OFF! ) and after pushing the AVS button the Q1u briefly displayed an AVS splash screen, which disappeared. Then the unit booted to Vista and the AVS screen came up in 1:50.
