NICE! This will give a HUUUUUGE  boost in perfomance!

The Core solo 1.33ghz uses 5.5watts compared to the ~3watts of the a110 800mhz. Although who knows what else they changed to maybe counter this increase in CPU power consumption. We'll see I guess...

Even if they didnt change anything else an increase to such a higher clock is well worth the extra power used.

but it also put on a 1/2 lb, which is quite substantial. maybe they had to put in a much much larger battery to keep the same battery life? but that would also throw off the weight balance. depending on how strong someone is, 2lbs might be the breaking point for how long is can be held without fatique (which is critical in the vertical market). there are 12" laptops that barely way that much.

also, how about the heat, how loud is the fan, etc?

main thing is hopefully they dont cheap out & instead put in an Intel wifi card this time.

You're right. Its .4 lbs heavier. I can only imagin that much extra weight coming from a higher capacity battery and beefier cooling solution for the higher wattage CPU.

    It's in JKK's initial post.

Sorry I'm blind lol Embarrassed [:$]

Shame they can't stick with the current battery, I wonder also does this change the whole chipset as well? What happens to the current video chipset...

Perhaps the power difference is more than the ~3watt vs. 5.5watt CPU, the chipset if different might be using more power, thus the definite need for a larger battery?

I HIGHLY doubt they will use a different chipset. There is no other embedded chipset avaliable from intel other than the one currently used in the Q1u.

I wonder does the 1.33ghz solo CPU have the same socket as the A110, if not can they change the socket on the chipset?

Thanks for posting. Do you know if they will have HSDPA and SSD in the new models?

There is no socket. Pinouts are the same but they solder the CPUs to the motherboard.
