Heat warning

I'm getting HD temperature warnings on my Q1UP which I hacked and installed a 2gb ram stick and an EVDO minipci modem. 55 degress centigrade. I've installed some fan software, but I can hear the fan blowing. Any suggestions? Any danger?
Thanks

Right now my Q1u-v's HDD is running at about 50 C. As for the fan, that tiny thing won't really do much for your hard drive, it's positioning isn't very helpful for the HDD either. I don't think that the HDD would melt down around 60C, should be higher. If it makes you feel any better you may be able to somehow stick a small fan on the HDD or fit in a HDD cooler/heatsink.

Hmm... yeah... 55C is kinda hot. I've got a q1u-v with 2gb, but no wwan, and I've never had a hard-drive temp warning, even when overclocking. Mine seems to hover in the 40s during regular usage. I wouldn't be surprised if the WWAN and the Core Solo are heating things up. (I would try first removing the wwan, and maybe it's just the model of wwan card that you have that makes a lot of heat- you may be able to return it for another model that generates less heat... maybe some other WWAN users can help with their numbers- WWAN model no and hd temp readings).
