    Microsoft reader 2.6

OK, I'm confused ... I have a new Toshiba M700 tablet with Vista Ultimate .... I downloaded Microsoft reader 2.5.1 so I could do the Ebook thing ... last month I ordered and downloaded 6 books without any problems ...  until today!  The books I purchased today I can't download and the e-book companies say I have to have the latest version 2.6. Only 2.6 will not download. It removes 2.5.1 and then tells me I have to have some Orgami experience pack that will not install because I don't have a umpc?

It sounds like you may have tried to install Origami Experience. Which means, even if that install failed, the system thinks you did install it.

If that is not the case, I'm not sure what you can do other than reformat and reinstall the OS from scratch.

After some quick searching, it looks like someone removed the OS checks from version 2.6. You can get it here: http://rapidshare.de/files/38728590/MSreader261.zip.html. Warning -- this software is not as Microsoft intended it (and I might get banned for linking to it, haha). If it screws up your system, neither MS nor I take any responsibility. Install at your own risk and make sure to have backups as well as current anti-virus definitions.

I have both a UMPC and a Gateway Tablet.  After downloading and installing Oragami Experience 2.0 on my UMPC I decided to see if it would work on my Gateway Tablet . . . it does, the only difference is that I have to use the Gateway tablet stylus instead of my finger because of the Gateway Tablet's use of an active digitizer.

Although jrronimo's suggestion is a good one, if you want to try to use the official MSReader 2.6 than you might try installing OX2 on your Toshiba.
