    Re: Q1 is HERE!!!!!

Can you read the battery specs from the battery pack for me before you do that?

I want to compare apples to apples and I'm still not clear about the capacity of the Q1 battery. Eo is 26W/hrs in theory.

    Watt/hours or Volts+mAh please

    Many thanks.

OK, The Q1 has a bigger battery. (10% more than the Eo) (28,8 watts)

    Good to know.
    Thanks for checking.

    Re: Q1 is HERE!!!!!

ctitanic, first full charge and discharge.  I was pretty harsh on mine.  Had ethernet and WIFI on during testing.  I did windows update and downloaded the education and experience packs (and installed them), played some games, and restarted the machine a few times too. Brightness was at 30%.  Here's my results as I wrote them down.

    Start
    8:54am 99% Battery Life
    9:24am 84%
    9:54am 69%
    10:54am 32%
    11:24am 12%
11:30am 10% I got the initial warning here to save and shut down.
    11:42am 5% Automatic hibernation.

So Total time was 2hrs 48min.  (someone double check my math).
So the windows time remaining was pretty close in this instance.  Im currently charging the unit back up for another round.

Haha. I had mine. Its 1000 here in Germany now. I'm ready for another day of testing and analysis. Steve.

But how did you get hold of a Q1 when you are in Germany? I tought that Samsung hadn't released them yet in Europe! Or do you work for a computer magazine or something?

    Re: Q1 is HERE!!!!!

We've seen screen rotation suddenly stop working on our Samsung devices as well, it doesn't seem to be tied to Windows Update but you never know. I believe the recovery media has the display driver you can try reinstalling. I know Sears has been playing around on how to get it working again.

If Sears does find the problem is it ageist Microsoft policy to post a patch on this site. I'm waiting to see if I won the contest so if I win hopefully it will be out by then. Can you change the screen resolution manually in the desktop properties?

    Re: Q1 is HERE!!!!!

I just tried changing resolution manually.  You are physically able to do it, but it isn't quite right.  The cursor doesnt line up with the stylus and the task bar went AWOL.  It's easy enough to do it with the button so I'll stick to that. =]  Changing back went ok.

When I got to work everything was working fine.  I started doing the critical updates (about 37 of them I think). After the updates I took it around to some co-workers and the first thing they ask is about screen rotation.  Sure enough it wouldn't work.  That's the only reason why I thought that something in those updates broke it.  But as you say, you never know.  My recovery media is at home,  I'll give that a shot and let you know.  I'm gonna check samsung.com as well and see if they have an updated driver on their website.

That's what I need it. Thanks!

Now, could you please or anybody else run this benchmark and get an "Official Score"

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/opensourcemark/

    Thanks in advance

No luck on using the new driver, still no good.

Currently running OSMark. Seems to me that this is specifically for VIA processors?  Will that Skew the results a little bit?

Nope. This one just have a better support for VIA processors but you can run it in any processor. This one is more balanced, it includes tests that no any other benchmark tools includes like encryption and decryption tests.
